The Fame was a slow burner but when it exploded it sure as heck EXPLODED! it not only introduced one of the most brilliant pop artists to the GP but it was a game changer and changed the music scene by making it more elecrtro pop friendly again for many many years.the artistry and symbolism in the live performances were interesting but they developed a lot more during The Fame Monster era.
Besides the couple of filler tracks on The Fame, I think it's her best album to date.
All the videos were fantastic, from the lower budget ones (Just Dance, Eh Eh, Lovegame) to Poker Face & Paparazzi, she had one of the best runs of music videos in an era for that decade.
And many of her performances this era were her best, notably her LoveGame/Poker Face performance at the 2009 MMVAs and the Paparazzi performance on SNL
She reinvigorated pop music and made it exciting again. Not to mention she took away the stigma of saying you liked pop music. I remember when I was in years 8-11 and people asked me what music I liked, I would only tell them I liked The Klaxxons, Cut/Copy, Greenday, Gorillaz, etc. which I did. But I would only tell people I liked male bands. There was a stigma on pop in the mid-2000s and she got rid of that.
Plus every single slayed, including promo singles.
