No offense, but those threads are a bit meaningless! It's cool if they help you feel better about urself & stuff.

Some people seriously need to lighten up. There's nothing wrong with threads like yours that celebrate the community and recognize the members of the forum.

Yes, I'm upset because a bunch of 20+ year olds using their free time by voting for 'most influential member!' on a pop music forum didn't vote for me. This sounds like something that would upset someone like you more (seeing as you gave 20$ of your own money to this site).

I already delete pages of SYG when it goes too off topic. But some incidental off topic conversation is gonna happen in a thread as active as that, that's okay.

Someone had a cute idea to list members important to the community. The does not mean they are emotionally invested in what the community thinks of them. Belittling them for donating to help keep running a site they enjoy is kind of ridiculous.

Pop culture in general is allowed in there. Harry Potter, Anime, movies, comics, etc. etc. is not off topic. The only information about what is or is not "off-topic" in SYG that's been given is:

Therefore, if it fits under pop culture then discussions about it are welcome within the rest of the rules of the site and thread.

Like Kworb said, if it actually gets off topic and out of hand, he's usually around to handle it.
