The actual Mario series is not oversaturated at all, though. There may be a ton of spin-offs, but their spin-offs all sell on average more than any other game spin-offs despite being exclusive to one console.

Their major problem stems from a lack of games and no third party support. We're getting our first JRPG in a couple months, our first traditional beat-em-up in a couple months,our first brawler in a couple months, etc. Nintendo of course has a much harder time selling because their console isn't similar to the other two consoles out, but it ultimately raises the ceiling for sales like we've seen with the Wii. If they can manage to launch the Amiibos right or even put cheap apps on their 3DS/Wii U, they can still come back.

Give me a price drop and I will buy it, to play my old Wii games and new Wii U games

My argument is, Nintendo need new IP's. So far nothing you have said can change that. I was using Mario as an example, not an argument. But me example showed Mario got more exposure in Nintendo Direct than any other franchise.

Nintendo did, actually. I clearly remember all of the Nintendo fans thinking most of those releases would save the Wii U too.

They expected it to sell consoles which it did. It wasn't expected to be a system saver.

You claim that Nintendo needs new IP's despite the following.

1. Wii was one of the most successful consoles ever, and had no great amount of new IP's.

2. Other than launch consoles (Original Xbox, NES, etc) NO console has ever been successful because of new IP's.

3. Both Sony and Microsoft have less new IP's than Nintendo.

Claiming that any significant number of Nintendo fans though Windwaker was a system seller just proves how deluded and desperate that you are.

Finding one site that says it is NOT enough to prove any consensus. It is laughable since remakes have NEVER been system sellers on ANY console in all of history.

Of course most of the games at E3 were Mario. It's their biggest franchise and they are going to milk it for all its got. Where is the logic?

1. That was the Wii. Things change. They need a new plan, obviously.

2. Incorrect. For example, The PS3 sold heaps thanks to The Last Of Us. TLOU bundle topped Amazon for weeks.
