Look, I am going to play this out plain and simple for you.
You have your dramas covered -- "Game of Thrones" and "Breaking Bad" are all you're going to need in that department. Tons of replay value, and one still ongoing. You can try other HBO shows, but the ones that I have watched really took nosedives in their later seasons. Next.
When it comes to comedy, it really depends what kind of comedy you're looking for. In the way of sit-coms, I recommend "Parks and Recreation", headed by the brilliant Amy Poehler, "Modern Family" and its notable "smart-humor" it has about it, "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" which is just...insane and amazing in every possible way, and finally, "Arrested Development" which is the best comedy of all time. -- each has its own kind of humor working in its favor, and all four are clear cut stand outs in the field. If you would like non-sitcom humor, I would say to try out "Silicon Valley" or "Veep".
ALL OF THIS ASIDE. There are two shows that are still very new that you need to watch. They combine the very best of comedy and drama.
ORPHAN BLACK -- Tatiana Maslany alone carries this show. Fantastic writing, very intense dramatic story line, and just the prefect amount of sci-fi, with comedic relief sprinkled in. This show is a 100% must watch.
Orange is the New Black -- Amazing ensemble cast, and astonishing writing. If you don't tear up watching at least 3 of those back stories, you have no soul. Season 1 is good, but focuses mostly on one, pretty boring, character. Season 2 is where the show really hits its stride and becomes such a stand out for me.
