That's the thing -- DC characters are better than Marvel characters in every way.

The only instantly recognizable Marvel characters are the "X-Men" and "Spiderman." The problem is that DC characters are always done poorly on film, meanwhile Disney has managed to make its irrelevant roster of Marvel characters marketable on a large scale. The general public would much rather see DC characters other than Marvel characters because DC characters are more recognizable and more iconic. Now, don't get me wrong, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is going to be terrible, and most everyone knows this, but everyone is going to see it anyway, and I'm going to see it, knowing it's going to be terrible, because DC is just a more interesting franchise. This will also give "Captain America" and the Marvel Cinematic Universe a much-needed wake-up call and some much-needed competition. Furthermore, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" feels "already done" with "X-Men: Days of Future Past" beating them to the punch with the "killer bots destroying the world" visual.
