Isn't it somewhat parallel to certain people continuing to belittle Germany and German people due to the events of WW2... Yes, what happened was horrible; vile and monstrous... but we can't keep blaming and mistreating people who had absolutely NOTHING to do with such activity. No white person (or anyone) should be guilt tripped into anything based off of what our very cruel, inhuman ancestors did hundreds and hundreds of years ago. All we can do is be educated, and teach future generations what has happened, what is happening now and what we can do to make sure it never happens again.
It comes down to... nobody should be mistreated or treated any differently based on the colour of their skin or your cultural or social up-bringing/background. We are all human beings... no person is pre-conditioned to feel shame, or be ridiculed for their ethnic background.
The bigger picture is a different story all together, racism exists everywhere. And it's a very, very serious problem; that's not going away anytime soon (if ever) but as individuals, we cannot blame or mistreat people based souley on the sins of our fathers. Speaking as a generation, and for everyone. We are NOT them... none of us are.
