I dont know, but i always felt like she felt like an actual popstar, let it be in terms of image, music and popularity. She was everywhere, at least in my country, and i actually knew about her because of her music before even realizing she was a Disney actress

Just look at this video, its just flawless and she looks like a popstar indeed. She was really into it and you can tell. The voice wasnt all that great, but the looks, the attitude, the quality and the sales were there

YES. She inspired alot of other girl's as well. If she didn't successfully venture off into the pop world or released an album, half of these girls wouldn't have THOUGHT to release an album. She was the queen of Disney until Miley snatched Hilary's wig and wore it on Hannah Montana

By "Disney Girls" i meant people who actually started their musical career thanks to Disney. Britney and Christina were actual popstars who got success on their own

well she never had a HUGE hit but was a cute album seller so, yes and no.

Miley easily surpassed her, but yes she was decently popular in her peak years (more than Selena and Demi).

She became the Disney actress and singer blueprint, and nobody, except for Miley, has come close to her level.

I think Hilary inspired (and paved the way) for most of the Disney girls, she is the reason they exist.

Not only did she pave the way for Disney actresses turned singers but Nickelodeon as well. Nick definitely tried to make their stars until triple threats after seeing what Hilary did.

The first popstar yes, but not the biggest. Miley easily surpassed her. I don't think Hilary even has a top 10 hit, but she did good with album sales. Plus she was pretty local.

And they failed misserably until Ariana came. Now they are back at failing misserably again

I highly highly doubt Hilary has sold as many albums as Miley.

But yes, Hilary was pretty popular back in the day and has a lot of great singles. I hope her new single does well.
