As someone who was formally fat, I can speak from personal experience, fat shaming does exist. People would stare, laugh and snicker as I walked by, I even had some moron shove a Mars bar in my face and said you'd probably enjoy this more you fatty. Whenever I'd order food I'd always get a judgemental glare from the server like 'should you really be upsizing?' I'd walk into a shop and no one would approach me, I'd always get served last. For the most part, society doesn't treat you like a human being.
Now that I'm 75kgs lighter, a whole new world has opened up. People are nice, I'm served first, I'm offered advantages I would have never received previously, I can eat whatever I want and not get judged for it or have people make assumptions about my eating habits.
Shaming works both ways tho, because although I'm now accepted by the broader community, I still get heat from overweight people. Not that long ago I was in doing my groceries and this obese woman walked up and said 'why are you only buying fruit and vegetables? Get some fat on those bones, you look ill'

First of all, it’s clear this doctor has never heard of health at every size. But I calmly explain to him that at my job, I’m on my feet 4 hours a day and also explain to him the concept of me being comfortable with my body and also explain to him health at every size. Then this ****er has the audacity to laugh and say, “Health at every size isn’t true, and if you keep believing it you will eventually get fatter and suffer a heart attack at a young age.” At this point I had had enough and politely told him to “**** off.” I immediately walked out of the office and cried in my car for half an hour.

Well first of all it seems this person is just looking for an excuse to justify their weight. Health at any size is complete ********, just like the ridiculous 'oh I'm big boned' excuse. Utter nonsense, there's no such thing. Unless you have a medical condition then you're overweight from overeating and lack of physical exercise.
