Sia's is part of her shtick. She does it to remain anonymous. She doesn't want to be famous. She doesn't want to be a tabloid staple. She doesn't want to become recognised in public. Plus we all found it funny and gifable. But she knew what she was saying.
Gaga's was awkward because she came off as being really pretentious. She didn't seem down-to-earth or like she was a real person. It felt like she was putting on a character. Plus some of the things she said were so awkward.
