Not every plane crash has 239, 298, 48, 116 people on board though. If any four of the plane incidents happened individually, they would still make world headlines.
Most fatal plane crashes are small planes with only 1-3 victims. Like you said, they don't make world headlines. At most, they'll make national headlines. But these aren't small planes we're talking about. These are jumbo jets crashing in bad weather, being shot down and completely disappearing. If any one of them was an isolated event, it would make world news.
