Ignorance isn't a valid excuse. She is in a public position, and should know the people who she associates with an affect her image, positively or negatively. People can have different opinions, that's fine. However, when it comes to hatred of a particular group, that's when it gets a bit slippery. It's harder to defend against straight up homophobia.

I don't think she's running away from it, I think she's completely unaware of it. I mean, it's a tweet from a producer from like 2-3 years ago. Do you think Nicki keeps tabs on all her producers and co-producers tweets from 3 years ago? Meanwhile, the ENTIRE world knew that R. Kelly raped a child and then pissed on her.

I don't understand how she is supposed to find out about this. Are the Barbz supposed to enter her mentions and spam her? Is someone supposed to pull her aside and tell her? Or is someone supposed to scream it out to her in public?
