I just find the term Eastern Europe outdated for the above countries especially since they do not ally with Russia anymore and they are all part of the NATO and the EU.

Have y'all ever heard of standard of living? Everything east of Germany and around the Mediterranean Sea doesn't compare with how we're living here in the 'West' and 'North'.

I went to almost all the countries listed and throughout the whole tour it was referred to as Eastern Europe.

Im from Slovakia and everybody here says we're the central Europe or even the middle of Europe. Also even though Ukraine is our neighbor country, we don't have many relations with Russia nowadays (except for gas) so no Eastern europe

We're taught this division, based on geographical, historical and cultural elements:
North E.
East E.
Southeast E.
South E.
Central E.
West E.
So yes. The east/west is a bit too strict division, considering all the crap that happened during the whole history.

Central european countries ( Croatia included ) are catholic , have similar history and tradition ( like Habsburg monarchy - Austria, Hungary, Croatia , Slovakia, Slovenia , Czech Republic .. ) , they use latin alphabet , their economy are good just like human rights . Big german influence
Eastern europe use cyrilic albhabet, are orthodox , they have issues with human rights and their economys are not stable . Big russian influence .
But i guess that world don't know that differences and still use old communist West/east

I don't but I probably should since I am from Poland and we are so much different than actual Eastern Europe. We are more like Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia.. etc. Poland is really like a bridge between Western and Eastern Europe, it's weird to classify it. To put those countries I mentioned above (culturally) with countries like Ukraine etc is really ignorant so I guess the term "Central Europe" does apply here.
