I think they're saying that minorities are going to be the minorities in these situations because that's what they are... minorities.

This logic is flawed beyond mind. You don't hire a person based on their race, sex. Not only it is an outright discrimination but it is also unfair to qualified work force. Diversity obsessed companies and their ******** ideals smdh.

A company like twitter doesn't care what race you are. All they care about is if you're qualified.

Minorities are called minorities because there are less of them... meaning the odds of having as many of one minority group as say a white male in a tech department is just very unlikely.

In the tech world, it's mostly male Asians and caucasians and that's just the truth. That means that there are less women, blacks, gays, etc. in the workforce. So unless Twitter came out and said "We will DOUBLE your wage if you're a minority" (which would be illegal, but just for reference), it's ridiculous to expect them to have an equal amount of every group of people.

You can't say that they're being discriminatory for something that's out of their hands, and it wouldn't be fair to hire someone of a minority group over a more qualified white guy just because they're in a minority group.

Yeah you're right the marketing of twitter and the social trends of society are clearly directly dependent on the skill of the programmers behind the site.

But if blacks and hispanics don't like that stuff and they are not interested, then Twitter shouldn't hire them?

It's because we do have a large Asian population here and yes, Asians are interested in technology. And I guess when they go for a job interview, they're the most qualified. Twitter ain't gonna hire no one regardless of their race if there are better people for the job. I'm sure they don't even take race in consideration, just ability. So the real problem is the lack of other ethnic representation in the actual computer education field, not at Twitter.

What's embarrassing about that? As long as those people can do their job...
