also in addition to what i said before, i think single ladies and beautiful are both at about the same level of icon status, but beyonce also has crazy in love and halo that are remembered pretty well while christina doesn't really have much else

Beyonce outsold James Brown sales wise and no one is considering Beyonce a bigger legend than him so what are you saying? I've never heard Beyonce called a legend outside of ATRL.

Neither are legends right now but Beyonce will definitely be one when it's all said and done. Christina, although I love her, won't even be known as an icon

They are legends and in the same tier. Putting each one of them in the same tier as Janet and Mariah is a bit far fetched at this point in time. Although they both can enjoy being simply called as musical legends.

Personally I like Xtina more because her songs touched me more than Beyonce.
But now that I think about it they are actually equal in terms of legacy.

Christina is below Gaga, Katy and Rih, she never made it to legend status like Beyoncé and Britney No longevity what so ever. I mean if you are still in your 30s and was considered a mainstream successful pop artist in your 20s, you should still be able to go platinum and book at least some arenas around the world, she can't do either. Not to mention she has absolutely no star power or brand power and always misses the Forbes list. Chile, its sad because Christina is/was very talented, but I'm not sure what happened to her career.

In terms of success but not on impact. Longevity? Didn't Moves Like Jagger, Feel This Moment and Say Something happened? She maybe a feature but she's still credited for their success(maybe to some extent for MLJ) Album sales market have dropped considerably and is not the same as before.

Book arenas? No star Power? Her name alone nabbed her a few $1 million private concert gigs it's not something to look down upon.

Y'all seriously need to stop discrediting Xtina though. A few flop eras doesn't ruin the accomplishments someone's had I'd say that Beyonce is a bigger legend (or will be), but that doesn't mean Xtina isn't. Stay trying though

I think actually they're both legends right now, but Bey is definitely more relevant and the media definitely seems to be in her corner at all times.

Christina might not ever sell like she used to, but she'll never be considered a has been or anything in that vein (kinda like Cyndi Lauper).
