Mercy was Duffy only hit in the US. Warick Avenue has not even hit the bubbling under. I feel so bad for her. She such a success everywhere else. I thought in the US there was a chance for her as the US starting to grow up a bit and give other music a chance.
One hit, peak #27, and a GOLD album. As long as the CD is selling. Estelle is having all kinds of success and yet her album won't even reach Wood. Duffy!
Well, the same can be said for Amy Winehouse but her album still went on to sell 2.1 million copies in the US and win the grammy for Best Album of the Year. "Rockferry" has sold better than most other albums this year by more established artists with bigger hits, so I'd say she's doing just fine.
By the way, most songs that are massive in Europe don't always translate to US airwaves. "Sex On Fire" is massive everywhere else but it's barely even a modest hit here in the US.

Right now, yes, but what do you expect with all the ballads. "Mercy" was upbeat and VERY radio friendly. It still gets played big time where I live. (No complaints, I love the song! )
"Warwick Avenue" was sort of radio friendly, but it wasn't very catchy, and it threw her off track. Now "Stepping Stone" doesn't have a chance.

LMAO at wood but yes her album is still selling and I love it!! hopefully the grammys will help her sell 1 million like they did for Amy. I wihs Adele would sell too. SNL helped her alot tho.
