I was surprised at Waking Up in Vegas being atop 10 when I found out in like 2010 I was impressed

also Part of me did not feel like a number 1 but it was front loded due to the hype.

Unconditionally actually felt bigger than its peak.

Teenage Dream deserved the #1, and it stayed there for 2 weeks, not one. Same with Last Friday Night. Both songs are huge and are respectable #1s.

Wide Awake actually felt like it went #1. It was just huge.

The One That Got Away seems fit for its top three peak. Its sales were considerably not on par with its radio performance, making it not enough to go past its number three peak. Still, it sold well.

Firework felt like it had a longer reign at #1. Only four weeks?

Birthday really felt like a flop, while Part Of Me felt like only top ten/five. In all honesty, I really thought Waking Up in Vegas went top 5.

Part of Me is my most listened to song from Teenage Dream. It's simple production and direct message it's empowering indeed.

The only one I could agree with is Part Of Me. The rest deserved their peaks.

Very rare that you have ALL of your singles from an album hit top five in radio and sales. By the time the 3rd/4th single has come and gone, it's harder to get digital support. People tend to forget that her digital power was enormous during that era, and that's what made her songs huge hits.

Nowadays the decay of themusic industry is so big that its really easy to chart really high. so yeah most of her songs charted higher than they should, but thats true about every1 out there (yeah even Gaga and Bey).

Not when streaming exists. It's actually much harder to chart high. You can't just go top ten based predominantly on one factor anymore (unless that one factor is way above average for its median).

Just POM and LFN.

The marketing for LFN was beyond genius. The song probably had too much competition for the #1 spot, but it deserved its #1. It was an event. Katy marketed that song for what it was worth. The video is just classic. That was campy, funny, goofy Katy at its very peak. The star power of the video was just too much. It deserves more play than DH or Roar. If it were shorter, LFN would've probably been watched more.

And TD was very cute to not be a big hit. It has timelessness all over it. Even if it did not go to number one, it has that feel to it that it could be more timeless than pretty much most of her catalog.

I thought Firework would reign longer than 4 weeks actually. I was VERY surprised that ET was an even stronger song than Firework at its peak. ET and FW actually felt more colossal than CG and TD.

I did not really like WA that much, but the video is probably one of her bests. It felt like Pan's Labyrinth meets Alice in Wonderland. Because of that it deserved its peak.

Birthday deserved to flop. The video should be deleted from history.

Uncle was a surprising flop. It's not a straightforward hit, but it did not feel like a flop too. It seemed out of place with the current trend in music, but it also felt like it's a song that Katy can carry high up to the charts. It's theme had a universality that Katy can market well and make into a hit. Of course, Dark Horse happened and that was the end of it.
