Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) is deposited in a community of boys after his memory is erased, soon learning they're all trapped in a maze that will require him to join forces with fellow "runners" for a shot at escape.
Will The Maze Runner, an upcoming YA adaptation, smash like The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, TFIOS, and other YA adaptation movies, or bomb at the box office like Vampire Academy, The Host, and other YA adaptation flops?
Am bookmarking this post of you doubting King Dylan and when the receipts are released and this makes $300 million on release weekend and gets a 100% on RT, am going to drag.
No new trailer since March, moved to light mid September ( highest opening weekend is Insidious Chapter 2) most dont make 100 million final. It wont be a smash but it wouldve done better in it's original Valentine's Day release date.
I say 25 million opening weekend with 45-60 million final ( depending on the second weekend drop against The Equalizer) and if overseas numbers do well ( it's only budgeted at 40 million) a sequel is bound to happen.
But...that's if they start promoting it.......NOW. The movie now less than 2 months away and no new trailer or sign of a TV spot? Bad.
