New categories? I mean If you have the best album, that doesn´t mean you're the best artist?, and either you are the best male or the best female? If this is true they should rethink about the categories names because they just seem to be repetitive.

Record of the year = Artist of the year = Female / Male of the year,
or Record of the year = Group of the year (if the ROTY is won by a group)

no the album came out after the cut off for the grammy submissions and the lead single No One was nominated because it came out before Grammy submissions and yea she won both of those Grammy's 2

Other way around... SOTY (and all of the "Song" categories, like Best Rock Song) go to the songwriter. Record of the Year, if I'm not mistaken, goes to the artist and the producer (and it might also go to some other tech people in charge of recording the song)

So, am i the only one that declaring an "Artist" of the Year is a bad idea. I mean, the Grammys gave Steeley Dan Album of the Year! What's to say that someone that none of us recall wins? There'd be a damn bigger outcry.

I say they should leave it at the big four and leave "Artist" and the Group/Male/Female nonsense to the VMAs. Which abuse them.
