I worked with UNICEF on this new "Unconditionally" video in support of the 35 million people living with HIV, especially the young people who often suffer in silence. On Thursday, we lost many people who dedicated their lives to fighting HIV on the Malaysia Airlines flight. They were traveling to the International AIDS Conference, where we were planning on launching this video. Now, I would also like to dedicate this video to them, to honor them, and to all the victims of MH17.
I wish the actual Uncle video featured Katy as a young mother, raising her family, and slowly noticing that one of her children was gay or transgendered.
Like if it was a little girl, she'd be playing with trucks and asking to dress as a boy. Or if it was a boy, Katy would notice him playing with Barbie dolls and wanting to dress like a girl.
Sort of like this video
Such a beautiful family ^^^^^^^
And then just show her raising the kid with her husband, and if the kid was trangendered, it would show Katy and her husband helping them transition. If the kid was gay, it could show him/her getting bullied at school, and then have a coming out scene, and then finally have a scene that would show Katy as a middle-aged woman, at her gay son/daughter's wedding, singing about how she'll love them unconditionally.
As beautiful as the Uncle video was, I didn't really get the whole "Dangerous Liasons", dancing in the snow, "love is like getting hit by a car" thing
