Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace
You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world
You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one.
Resistance to religion and antitheism is gaining power, liberalism is gaining power,
I belive the world could become better without any religion or all that stuff.
This is so good....
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace
No, there's heaven and hell, and there will always be. Whining about it won't help. Especially when you die. What will help, though, is trying to be as decent as possible and following Allah's orders, which are always best suited for human life.
That song seems to posit the idea that "if everyone just thought just like me this world would be such a better place." That's a faulty reasoning, whether uttered by a Christian, Muslim, Jew, pagan or atheist.
No and it's unrealistic to expect anything of the sort to happen. Conflict and mistrust of the unfamiliar are human nature, the best thing we can do is utilise the resources and technology we create to minimise the mistrust and unfamiliarity between groups of people.
Leave it to a wife beating hippy to reach for the stars with one hand and a bong with the other.
