Anyway, even if the GP were the ones making the industry, that has nothing to do with the fact that there are other artists whose albums still a lot and these artists don't artists don't include Rihanna.
Hit singles? Many artists can get them. Even Iggy Azalea got one.
Hit albums? Not as many artists can get them and you can deduce that just by looking at Iggy Azalea's album sales.
You are only essential to the industry if you're commercially special/unique. And Rihanna is not. She gets hits with mediocre album sales. Same with Maroon 5. Surely successful, but not commercially powerful enough to be essential to the music industry.
