Well V did not outsell Ashley's worldwide, and also, you also have to put SOME blame on Vanessa for her album flopping. Yes, her label is notorious for only promoting certain artists, but I feel that V, as well as the other artists with that label, don't really seem to care about their CD flopping. creative wise, Vanessa seems to put little effort into her music.
With that in mind, I don't see why Vanessa or any other artists are being brought up i this topic.
Anyways, a rep at Warner bros has stated that february is not confirmed, so we may have to wait a bit longer.

Vanessa got no worldwide promo for her first album like Ashley did. She never even went out of the country to promote it. The only international promo she had was one little interview for Japan and HSM tours/promo. Not to mention that Ashley's label actually promoted her once her album had been out awhile. Once CBTM was done on radio...the promo pretty much quit except for the Say OK video.
Pretty much the only thing that anyone on that label can do is threaten to bring in lawyers like Hilary did. Jesse had a song hit number 1 on radio and his 2nd single is pretty close to top 20 now and his sale are $hit because his label barely puts him out there and you know he cares about his music considering that he writes a lot of songs and co-wrote Bleeding Love.
Vanessa was between a rock and a hard place with this album. Her manager got her some exposure in more adult mags leading up to release and she had some hype from EW and Blender (her management did that) but her label dropped the ball on pretty much all promotion outside of Disney Channel and since no single was ever sent to radio she didn't really stand much of a chance to get more exposure to an audience outside of little kids.
As for not caring that her album is flopping...I'm sure she cares...but she's kind of been too busy to really think about it. She filmed 2 movies back to back and then she went on tour and is now doing HSM3 promotion. She really hasn't had much time to go meet with her label. She's was out of the country for almost three weeks and the minute she got back to LA she's been stuck doing HSM3 promo. And since her label doesn't really find her a priority...I'm not expecting a 2nd single until mid to late November.
Here is what she has to deal with...one minute she's announcing during her tour that her next single was going to be Identified and she was still announcing even though her label decided to premiere Amazed on Radio Disney.

As for Ashley since this thread is about her...
I was personally thinking that February would be too early for Ashley because that is when her movie comes out. She would be better off with a summer release. She could have her single ready around the time her movie comes out but release the album later so she is not promoting 2 things at the same time.
