No. She has very successful singles, but every year there's always a new bunch of artists who get mega-hits (and then mostly fade into irrelevancy to become one-hit wonders). My point is that there are always artists who can get mega-successful singles too, regardless of their careers' longevity. There's always a mega-hit on the charts, and it will always be that way, with or without Rihanna.

However, Rihanna doesn't usually release mega-successful albums. Her album sales are average. And unlike singles, you will not always find a hugely successful album on the charts. It can take over a year to see an album really sell a lot. What makes artists special is having hugely successful albums because the amount of successful albums is less than the amount of successful singles, especially recently.

Rih needs to take advantage of this lull, tbh.

even as a rihanna stan i will say that everyone says this about an artist when they are on break. stans are always claiming the gaga, katy, beyonce or even britney (cringes) are what the music industry needs back when they are on break.
