Do you prefer XBOX Achievements or Playstation Trophies? I'm debating which console to get (One or PS4) and this will probably be the deciding factor for me since I love collecting those type of things.

They are basically the same thing, just different names. Buuuut, get a Sony console, you're getting both last and current-gen, right?
I prefer Trophies, and I prefer PS3 and I prefer PS4.

They're different, no? And the PS4 isn't backwards compatible last I heard, but I might be wrong. I don't have a PS3 already so I've never experienced the trophies experience.

Nope, they're not different. There are the same conditions to achieve the trophy/achievement in both consoles, the only difference is that on PS3/PS4 they are called "trophies" while on X360/X1 they are called "achievements".
And X1 is not backwards compatible either, but it's your choice. Personally I like PS3 and PS4 more.
