As a stan of both, it's so infuriating. I don't want to be unable to enter a thread about one of my faves without having to witness ruthless dragging of the other, ESPECIALLY when the other fave is NOT part of the topic at hand.
I think something really should be done about this. It's flamebait, it's off topic, it's disruptive... there's three rule violations just there. And, most of the time, it's the same repeat offenders that are SO far up their fave's ass that they feel OBLIGED to shoot the other one down at every chance they can get. I think most people will know who I'm talking about too.
