The problem is that Windows 8.1 doesn't have the XP SP2 compatibility mode, you're forced to use XP SP3, Vista SP2, 7 & 8; none of those work

It involves registry editing, so do it at your own risk. Make a system restore point before messing with registry settings.

All you need is any Sims 2 game to get the Ultimate Collection. I used Apartment Life for mine. Deluxe should be fine.

What is this talk about Ultimate Collection

Is this incompatibility a widespread issue? Because I got Windows 8.1 and the Ultimate Collection works fine on it. I didn't even mess with compatibility settings.

I think JC is using the copy that was given away for free. But, so am I I also was using a not so legal complete collection before I got the e-mail and that worked on Windows 8.1 too.

I mean, I don't want to speak too soon because I did not have a long playing session but so far it's functioning.

I can't wait for y'all's TS2 gameplay pictures.

For some reason, every time I load up the Ultimate Collection, my game says its Not Responding. It doesn't even load anything, it just freezes on the main screen after the little video intro. Help
