What was your life like before smartphones existed?
Well? What was it like before iPhones, Androids, Windows phones etc existed?
I went through a multitude of phones, from the Samsung Impression to the RAZR, LG Shine for music, I went through about 3 ipod Nano's from the different generations and just carried my phone and iPod with me in my bag. For games, I wouldn't play them that much but I did have a Gameboy Advance and all the ones before - the last one I had was the one that flipped and charged. The only entertainment I remember my first cell phone having is the game Snake the rest had like.. Car racing games and other lame stuff. I also would get on MySpace on my phone web browser and run the phone bill UP, my mom would be pissed
i had a flip phone that i hated and almost never used, i just couldn't ever deal with the pressing buttons multiple times to get the right letter thing. it was always my sister that ran up the phone bill, lord knows what she was doing with it

oh yeah and now i remember loading the south park website on my old phone and it being too slow to handle it and me getting mad, that's about the summary of my time with that phone
When I was very young (Nothing really mattered to me) I had a gameboy color and a gameboy advance sp. Then I got a DS and PSP and also a 3rd gen iPod nano. My first cellphone was a white blackberry pearl, but i lost it. So then i got a crappy samsung flip phone that had different colored clip on covers.I also had a 4th gen iPod Touch. I didn't get my first smart phone until the iPhone 4s tho.
I often think about how different high school would have been if they were around when I was at school...snapchat, whatsapp, grindr, twitter, facebook. It would have been crazy. Having grindr underage in particular.
Just recording stuff would have been the funniest though. I went to Catholic school and one day one of the religion teachers got everyone to put all the desks around the sides of the room and sit in a circle, and in the centre of the circle, she performed an interpretative dance in a black bed sheet, saying that the holy spirit had overtaken her body. And everyone said it was EXACTLY like this:
And that they were laughing so hard they couldn't breathe. Everyone was like "omg, Mrs. Mccann did an interpretive dance in a bed sheet...it was EXACTLY like Mr. G in Summer Heights High."
I wasn't in her class. I had a different religion teacher For the past 6 years though, we've all been so upset that smartphones weren't around for us to record it. It would have gone viral.
I had a Sidekick. I really felt cool just by having it and being able to log in to MSN messenger. I didn't depend much on mobile devices unlike today that I would seriously drive back home to get my phone if I'm to forget it there, so that made life much simpler and fun.
I had some old samsung flipphone in 2005, then went on to a razr, env2, voyager (for two years ) and then the iPhone 4 when it came out and never looked back Have stayed with iPhones since.
I used to think the env2 was so cool because of the keyboard and really cool when I had the voyager because of the touchscreen and the fact that I could now watch TV on my phone Seemed like the coolest thing back in 08/09.
As for iPods, I thought I was SO cool for getting the first generation iPod nano after it came out Everyone was envious
