I can see that. I foresee higher ratings/viewership the first half hour due to the residual effects of Miley and Robin last year but it will drop off for the rest of the show.

I can sadly see the VMAs setting up some sort of special category/Vanguard award for Beyonce, which would set the stage for Bey to snatch VOTY even though it is undeserved compared to the likes of Fancy and Happy. Nothing more effective than industry politics.

They were all expecting Katy to dominate and she was snubbed. I'd probably be upset as well if my fave was at their peak and was wrongfully snubbed.

As long as someone talented and deserving is dominating, I'm cool!
