I hope that our country joins the club soon. I mean, we have "lifetime partnership" too but it's not like a marriage. It's basically just a name with no rights at all. We are also not allowed to adopt at least not as parents only one person can adopt a child. Our polticians are very supportive towards that tho. It's only the good sis Merkel her party (christian/conservative) that blocks the progress.

Let's hope for the best. I want to get married one day and I also want to adopt two childs. C'mon Angela sis

There's speculation she might step down, if she does they say Ursula is her likely replacement and she's an ally. I hope having the leader say pass this bish will convince the rest of the party.

I like the good sis Angela but she and her party are a mess when it comes to this topic. And the people who are voting for them aren't better. It's in the name (CSU = Christlich Soziale Partei). Thank god that more and more people in this country want to get a rid of them.

The dutch ignorance sometime surprises me but well... The borders of eastern Europe are debatable. Croatia is in Central Europe in my books. But they did not make history in the region Hungary and the Czech Republic had the same law in place for years now.

Croatia was part of Hungary during the Austria-Hungary times but imo they're just too south to be considered "Central" Europe

So where would you place Greece? We talk about very loose socio cultural geographical categories... We in Hungary see Central Europe more as a cultural category in that respect Croatia is Central Europe. It's a country with western Christians, who write with Latin alphabet, were part of Austria Hungary and now their gay laws are very much Central European too a nd even though they have ban on gay marriage they are not hostile towards gays like most of the Ukraine or Russia... Central Europe is a very much existing category even though some Western Europeans for whatever reasons trying to deny it.
