Bearing in mind he's married with kids and basically old enough to be her dad, we're pretty sure this was a friend date, but it has got us wondering if the pair are working together on a new movie project.
The whole story popped up on the interweb after one tweeter spotted the pair having chicken nuggets and chips together at fancy LA hangout Chateau Marmont.
"So last night I sat beside Selena Gomez and Paul Rudd at the Chateau Marmont. And yes they were together. BUT WHHYY?!?!" Kaytee Vivienne tweeted.
"They were having dinner together and just hugged bye etc before leaving," she added.
A lucky fan spotted Selena and Paul enjoying a causal dinner together in Los Angeles and did what any one of us would have done — they jumped right to Twitter to blast it all over the web!

They're obviously not dating. They're under the same management, same with Jennifer Aniston, she met up with her a few weeks ago. They're probably just connecting etc.. maybe for a new movie who knows.
