And many more! You could argue practically every other single she released in the 80s is a classic, during Born This Way-gate "Express Yourself" was widely referred to as a classic.
Why is pandering to the Kidz Bop demographic seen as such an accomplishment?
I think their point is Madonna's classics (of course she has some) simply aren't as universal as the big 80s/90s diva anthems (My Heart Will Go On, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, I Will Always Love You)
You might hear Holiday or Papa Don't Preach from time to time in the dentist's office though.
I still wonder how Madonna's career would have turned out had she not released American Life.

It's sad that Lady Gaga ended up representing the exact opposite of what she wanted to stand for.
She wanted to be seen as a real, authentic artist and not just a dumb, manufactured popstar.
