"Fancy" doesn't have nearly as much swearing. The radio edit of "212" takes away like half of the song.

212 isn't as mainstream as Fancy.

Fancy has the pop-hook and it helped. Also, Fancy is really pop-ish (not that different from Tik Tok, We R Who We R, Die Young, Crazy Kids, etc. etc.) and not really a rap song (why hip hop stations are spinning it is beyond me but that's besides the point).

Just read an article that 'Fancy' was chosen by Clear Channel for their "On The Verge" deal, which is where they put a new artist's new single on rotation on just about every single channel they own in an attempt to make it smash.

Because Fancy is the better song.

212 is the song that has a dance beat. Lots of Azealia's songs have dance/house beats. Fancy has a hip hop beat (DJ Mustard style), which is why hip hop stations play it.
