Tulisa told she was up for Leonardo DiCaprio film in sting
Quote:
Tulisa Contostavlos believed she was competing against Kate Winslet and Keira Knightley for a part in a Leonardo DiCaprio film during her drugs sting, a court has heard.
The former X Factor judge is accused of brokering a cocaine deal with The Sun reporter Mazher Mahmood, who posed as a film producer called Samir Khan, in May last year after he claimed he could help her break into acting.
"It is clear the defendant was very keen to break into films and she and her manager swallowed the story completely," prosecutor Timothy Cray told Southwark Crown Court this morning.
"She was told that she would be more suitable for the film than Keira Knightley or Kate Winslet."
He added that when Contostavlos first met Mahmood in March "she thought he could get her a part in a big movie that was coming up, and it seems that she was keen to be in his good books and be friendly with him".
In a phone call played to the court, Contostavlos offered to help supply Mahmood cocaine for a 'lads night out' after he promised she would "certainly be [there] next year at Cannes [Film Festival]".
When asked about 'white sweets' - an alleged code for cocaine - Contostavlos is heard telling Mahmood: "Definitely yeah, on the day. I will get it sorted."
Didn't she fall for a hoax regarding a Bollywood deal not so long ago? nn the poor girl can't catch a break, falling for essentially the same hoax twice
