Ellie Goulding on Ellen (reveals album title!) (500+)
Ellie appeared on The Ellen Show to talk about her new album, music video and
mini-series! She sings her new single Asleep live!
Ellen introduced Ellie as she sat down next to her. The audience clapped and
cheered for Ellie and the interview began.
Ellen: It's been so long, when was the last time you were here?
Ellie: The last time I was here was a few months ago, it's been too long!
Ellen: This is the first time you released two music videos for one song.
Ellie: Yeah it was really fun shooting them. The first music video was written
and filmed by Floria Sigismondi. She really talented and she also filmed the
Anything Could Happen music video. It was supposed to be a two day shoot,
we finished half a day earlier. I asked Floria if she had some extra time
because I wanted to film something for the fans and she said she did. We both
came up with the concept for the second music video. The first video is over
eight minutes long so it's my longest video!
Ellen: Can you tell us anything about your new album?
Ellie: It's just a few weeks away but I think I can tell you the title. It's

Gould! It's spelled like my name G-O-U-L-D. I'll be revealing more details
like the album cover and tracklist within the next two weeks. It's mostly
indie and pop though. I experimented a bit a have 2 rock-ish songs and a few
EDM songs. They don't sound like Halcyon Days rejects though, I want this album
to sound different and fresh, like something that I've never done before.
Ellen: That's great. You've already released three album so it must be a bit hard
to make pop and indie songs that sound fresh and new.
Ellie: Yeah it took a long time to find the right sound for this album. I know that
mostly indie and pop but it really doesn't sound like any of my old stuff. Another
thing I've done with this album is sort of mix genres. Like EDM and indie or rock and
R&B.
Ellen: Has James Franco officially joined the cast of your show Skeleton?
Ellie: Yes! It's really exciting because he's one of my favorite actors. I was a bit
surprised when I first heard about it because he's so busy. He's always starring in
a new movie or working with his classes.
Ellen: How many episodes have you filmed already and when does he come into the show?
Ellie: We've only shot two episodes and James comes in on the third episodes. We're
gonna shoot that episodes tomorrow so that's really exciting.

The stage was very simple, a microphone stand in the middle with drums, a piano and two
other microphone stands in the back. Ellie stated singing Asleep while the live band played
the instrumental. There wasn't much dancing but Ellie brought a lot of energy to the stage.
