To a certain degree yes. If she had a better label backing her up EH would have done a lot better. She definitely has the talent. I don't feel too bad though. She lives comfortably and has a large, loyal fanbase. Her next era should do even better.
Marina was too concentrated on this whole 'Electra Heart' character to care for hits in her last era (or that's what it seemed like). But now EH is gone maybe she will step it up a bit, hopefully. I'm expecting hits this time round

Her career trajectory is pretty similar to Janelle Monae tbh. Both are too high-concept for the GP, but I believe there's a market in the future for either/both of them if they're willing to scale their albums back a little to make them more accessible.
