Ne-Yo and Rihanna: I Could Have Been Chris/negative comment
While confirming Rihanna and Chris Brown's relationship recently, Ne-Yo says he could have been with Rihanna.
The chart topping singers have shared the hit single "Hate That I Love You" and label home at Def Jam in recent years but Ne-Yo says there was potential for more -- at least for publicity purposes that is..
"Just months prior to them dating record companies were trying to put me with Rihanna to build up some controversy" says the "Year of the Gentleman" star.
"They've (the record companies) been trying to do it with me for years but I refuse to sell my soul."
While there is nothing going on between him and Rihanna now Ne-Yo is very sure that the star's relationship with Chris Brown is the real deal.
"I've hung out with them so much that I know that it's the real deal and they're in a relationship" he says via The Sun.
"They tear hair out of each other and argue. I've seen them kiss and make up like other couples do."
In related news, Ne-Yo is looking forward to working with Alicia Keys.
"She can do no wrong in my eyes. I have a little crush on her. I'd love her to star in one of my music videos."
Ne-Yo was caught acting 'un-gentlemanly' at Big Boy and Luscious Liz's 'Big Boy's Neighborhood Morning Show' recently. The "Closer" star called out Young Berg, discussed loosing his virginity at a young age and revealed how many groupies he has 'been with' since the hit "So Sick."
Challenged with the show's "Hat of forbidden questions,' which are questions that artists are required to answer with no hesitation, Ne-Yo was first asked who he would smack in the industry. His answer -- Young Berg. (Video Below)
"Young Berg, I can't respect a person that's not trying to do nothing original. From an artist standpoint it sounds like a rip-off of what Lil' Wayne did to me. It sounds like what 'Pain' (T-Pain) is doing right now. It just upsets me. That is what's wrong with the business, the music, there's no originality anymore."
Later in the interview, Ne-Yo throws his "Stomp The Yard" partner Chris Brown under the bus.
"Chris gave me a hug one day and he was a little ripe," the "Miss Independent" star revealed while also talking about loosing his virginity at the age of 9 and the amount of women he has been with since "In My Own Words," his debut. (Watch Below)
In related news, Ne-Yo has revealed "Mad" as the next single from "Year of the Gentleman".
