Discussion: ARTPOP flop staged ?

Can you see Gaga actually playing all of us with this pre-planned idea regarding ARTPOP. She likes creating a concept or proving a point with each album like in The Fame the whole concept is fame hungry music and greed. ARTPOP's concept could be the demise of the "it" pop girl which is ironic when she displays the birth of Venus in multiple platforms, where is she is dying as the "it" pop girl.

regarding the flop maybe she did it also to ditch the pop act for something better for her at least..

I've always had that thought in the back of my mind to be honest, but I don't think we'll ever really know...

It's one of those scenarios that you could argue either way... how could sales be manipulated in that way (surely, a hit is a hit, right?) and why would interscope allow it? But then, I mean, its Gaga, and the whole VMA performance was proof of her concept of the album being about the generic popstar falling from grace... If that's really what she intended for the era to be about, it's an ironic coincidence at the least that it turned out this way.

We all know she's obsessed with the concept of "fallen star/ rise and fall of the female singer / the decay of a popstar" so maybe she planned to flop with artpop so that her next album slays. I'm not joking
