I have so many mixed feelings on her but yes, that video was manipulative as ****. She didn't give the games enough respect to form her opinion after playing them all individually. If she played them all and experienced their stories and then connected the dots based on the context of the content, that's one thing. But she literally cut/paste bits and pieces from games and used that as a backbone to support a narrative she created. It's highly misleading and unless you are a gamer and know how these games work, you are going to take this at face value and that doesn't represent these games fairly.

That doesn't invalidate feminism.

Some of the biggest voices in feminism do more harm to the cause than good.

If you know anything about this blogger it's that she's constantly the target of desperate sexists who can't stand that she's a vocal female gamer who calls out sexism in games and the gaming community and who therefore clutch at straws and jump with glee at the stupidest "mishaps" and conspiracies they make up.

I think she does make good arguments and her theories are pretty well thought out. I don't agree with her but it does make you think. What I really dislike is how she continuously portrays the game developers to be misogynists. There isn't any need for the trolling, name calling, violent threats or photoshopped pictures of her though.

I tend to agree with her views, although I think she uses weak strawmen to defend them. However, nearly every video she's done on media has been attacked by Mens Rights Activists, messy straight guys and gamers who fear that she wants to take their boobies on tv away. For as little amount of video as she's done (and I have zero issue with her turning off comments, considering it's YouTube and 95% would be variations of "you suck bitch now get back in the kitchen" and not actual debate over the issue) she gets a lot of hate.

As does any woman who dares to point out the issues with media portrayal of women. She should do better with her videos (mostly stop the strawman arguments and utilize the evidence more effectively) but it's not like she's wrong. However, I'd say that the game industry is not blatantly misogynist, but it sort of becomes self-perpetuating.

They're so transparent, aren't they? The knives have been out for her ever since her kickstarter blew up and she got all that money to do her videos. The fumes . . . @ her getting 6 figures, when she only asked for something like 5K for her series! They can stay mad though. The money's been collected. She's made her videos, got her Youtube views, and the fanboys and their sympathizers can continue seething

Both sides are a mess. Anita is not without fault of her own like the men who attack her.
