Beauty is subjective and I actually do think that Mariah in her prime did look better than I ever will so... I just hate that people are like "Wow, Mariah is so beautiful w/o editing!! Stop body shaming!!!" when instead they should be taking leaks like this and Gaga's and saying... Wow, look at how obsessed with perfection and beauty our society, culture, media, etc. is. How can we change this? How can we make it so these drastic changes are no longer needed?

Actually seeing the side by sides is so disturbing to me. Like, I knew that Mariah's shoot was edited to a certain extent, but... Mariah still is a pretty woman and she can really shine with the right clothing, makeup, and hair, but she mentally seems to think she is forever 20 years old.

The issue is her image doesn't reflect that. While I can't imagine Mariah dressing like Susan Boyle, I do agree about her maturing in general.
But that's Mariah, she's been faux superficial since the 90's.

What I'm saying is that If Complex is going to shame and expose someone for editing their pictures, do an analysis and shame the industry. It isn't Mariah's or any other celebrity's fault that they feel the need to do this, it's the industry and often the consumer that tells that they have to.

I have every Complex Issue from the 2009 Kanye West white issue, and every now and then they make bleak missteps in what they publish,
making assumptions about their audience and what we find entertaining and acceptable, its quite offensive. Like they think
we are dumb and lack decency. Things like this will fly on ATRL and on TMZ but not for Complex's late 20's early 30's straight male demo.

Who really fell for Mariah's album cover any way? I mean, we see her live and on T.V. all the time.

It's very clear what's hanging on her and what's staying put.
