I know this is cliche, but I just had a question. I'm 17
And have always wanted to be a singer. I love entertaining. I am a gym rat cause I think looking good is part of the game...just as singing is. I also write (pop). People tell me to describe my style and I say...me. Cause I don't like comparing myself. I love the way pop music makes me feel (OBIVOUSLY as all of you) and I wanna be able to spread more happiness like it does for me.I know I can do it, so I just wanted to ask a couple of you smart asses in here. Where should I start? Record a demo? Get a manager? How to find a studio with a decent producer that is well established.

I know you guys get this a lot, but honestly!

Just have a demo of your most marketable songs ready and prepare to send them to different labels. Or, do it the Justin Bieber way and record videos of yourself singing covers and ship yourself on YouTube, hopefully someone big will see you!

Here's the other thing. I'm no Adele haha and I'm a guy btw. It's more of the song/look thing I think I'll be going for. Lol I'm not saying I'm bad or anything but you know what I meAn.

Record a demo and show it to other producers and record labels. Try to contact them though, see if you can try performing at local gigs and try to get your name out there. Start your own website, basically become a DIY artist and show a record label that you can develop somewhat of a following so that they would want to invest in you. Having talent is one part, having the self marketability is very much a different ball game

I would first get all of your own written songs patented as well as your recordings. Then I would put your material online and see how it does. If it's not doing how you want it to after a certain amount of time, maybe pay for a little advertising like on Facebook or something. Or go on a talent show even though that may be cliché.

i deffinetly know what you mean lol! im a guy too and im deff no Adele or Sam smith but i think i have a good voice. its polarizing tbh. like you either like it or hate it. so i understand what you mean.

but what i may lack for in vocal ability i make up with my songwriting ability. (or at least i think i do haha)
