Your country, what are you proud of?
What are you proud of your country for?
For Australia, I'm proud of the things we've invented
WiFi
Black box flight recorder
The inflatable emergency slides used on aircraft
Dual flush toilet
The Hills hoist
The first motored lawn mower
Penicillin
Latex gloves
Refrigeration
Xerox photocopying machine
The garage roller door
The bionic ear
The pacemaker
Our inventiveness
I'm proud of our country spirit. In natural disasters, I've yet to see another country band together like ours does.
I'm proud of our universal healthcare system (although that could soon change if Abbott gets his way )
I think our HECS/HELP system is the best in the world.
I'm proud of our collective viewpoint, to a large extent we are a pretty moderate nation. Give everyone a 'fair go', meet some basic values and standards in your conduct, be reasonable and most Aussies are happy. We don't have the deep social divisions of other countries. We are mild in our religious practices, we are mild in our social views – we are in favour of most liberties, in reason. We have some racism but we are fairly tolerant. On the whole, we have a well-functioning and friendly society.
So what makes you proud to be a citizen of your country?

She the best symbol of power and success. She's female and she's a racial minority, but she is POWERFUL.

Canada I'm proud that we're known as the "Peace-Keepers" of the world and how we're very accepting/loving of everyone no matter sexual orientation, race, gender.

I find it fascinating what each country has contributed to society. People from all over the world coming up with things that've changed the way the world works and helped shaped how society functions today.
One simple idea and you can change the world forever, extraordinary really.

There was a census with 250+ countries about violence .. mine was last on the list, meaning the least violent country.
Free education and health.
Free transport for students and old people.
The fact that it is referred to as 'the paradise island', or simply the fact that it is a tropical island.
