What makes you think she pulled it off though? The rosary-gobbling scene in Alejandro was so extra and deserved all the backlash it got. Judas was the song that basically made the BTW era screech to a halt. Religious imagery is something she should stay far away from, since she clearly doesn't really have anything new or provoking to say about it that hasn't been said before. The bottom line is every time she tried to do the controversial religious thing it backfired on her and only dragged her down.
