If someone's need to feel equal is based on clothing, there are bigger problems that need to be solved.
What about a young girl (or boy) who cannot afford to change their outfit everyday and cannot afford to keep up with the fashion. You think she won't get bullied?
You're wrong then. And bullying is a huge issue in the world. So therefore it is necessary.
It's not a bad thing, but you come and call wearing uniforms a dictatorship, like as if we're just brainwashed kids with no rights or something. Things are done for a reason, but uniforms are not like the bane of human rights.
Well maybe it's that way for you, and that's fine. I can see some of the positives of wearing uniforms, but overall, it's not necessary imo. I like to be able to wear whatever makes me feel comfortable (as long as it goes along with the dress code).

That's why I said to simply expand the dress code policy.
I've seen uniform clothing just as expensive as regular clothing. No one will be hurt if the dress code for schools were expanded; if anything, it would be beneficial.
no, i feel so uncomfortable in that preppy stuff i like my baggy tshirts. i do believe in a dresscode though- it makes both students and teachers uncomfortable when a girl is running around class in booty shorts or with her boobs hanging out.

Kids will be bullied regardless. It's a part of growing up. It makes your skin tough. Stop trying to make the world one of unicorns and cotton candy clouds.
I came close to going to a Catholic high school where they wore uniforms because the school was closer to my house, but I went to a public school instead just to avoid wearing uniforms
It depends really. Here it wouldnt be necesarry but in countries where it's bigger difference between rich and poor maybe it could work better? I think most would do fine without uniforms. We don't have any dresscode at all here either, you can wear whatever you want. I guess someone would talk to you if you basically wore a short as short as underwear, but other than that anything can be worn.
Hard to say tbh. It would be a yes because the people wouldn't judge you for how cheap/expensive are your clothes, but it could also be a no because you couldn't wear what you want anymore
I'm complexed by people saying it stops you expressing yourself you're not at school 24/7, you can wear and 'express' yourself however you want when you get home, on the weekends and holidays. It's no different than a work uniform, I really don't get the issue
I went to public school so I never had to wear them and it was nice to be able to express yourself through your clothing choices. However I do understand the benefits of uniforms, especially when it comes to stopping bullying with students because sometimes kids do get made fun of for their clothes if they're not nice enough or whatever. Also it can save on kids having to buy new clothes for every school year. But I don't think every school should have uniforms.
