It's a story album that shows the progression of a relationship, from start to finish in Brooklyn, NYC. They meet at a party, start having sex, develop feelings for each other, get together, are in love, but issues start developing from the relationship from both sides (implied to be drug use and abuse by both or inner turmoil on Gaga's part), and Gaga develops depression and attempts suicide because of it. She lives again with a renewed sense of purpose in life, breaks up with the boyfriend, and reflects on her "Brooklyn night affair".
