What is more Vanguard than that? However I do think that DC videos should be considered as part of Beyonce's videography. If this award is to honour someone's contributions to music videos then that should qualify them. She worked on them. She was in them and their popularity was at least 1/3 her inclusion. Not to mention that there have been winners of this award who are not recording artists and who were rewarded for their contributions to music videos, so to discount someone's contributions just because it wasn't under their solo moniker makes no sense.
Gaga deserves this too but she's too new to give to her just yet. Xtina and Rihanna I don't feel are video vanguards really, just very popular singers with widely seen videos.

I agree, fully actually. The thing that confuses me with Beyoncé and DC is how they are conjoined, but Justin and N Sync are rarely conjoined. So I feel if Justin is a separate act from N Sync, then Beyoncé should be a separate act.
Xtina had a good three eras but her last two really put a damper on her legacy, so I can see how she probably won't be getting one. I think Rihanna could get one, but not for a lot of years because she is a visual artist, in the sense that her look (from videos) are strongly associated with her music.
