i think it's the popularity. Kerry never would've gotten nominated except for the fact that Scandal is the it show right now. while Orphan Black is not really that known

True, they have a soft spot for Kerry. But The Emmys are known for completely ignoring genres like sci-fi or fantasy. There are VERY few exceptions like Lost or Game of Thrones.

The firing episode of the Good Wife alone made it deserve a nomination.

Just like how the Oscars have been ignoring horror for a while.

Not to mention, a couple animated films should've won Best Picture instead of just the nom.

Since we're bringing this up right now. I'm still kinda furious about the complete lack of love for Battlestar Galactica when it's legit one of the most acclaimed shows of all time besides that. Yet another example of ignoring these genres.

What horror films would you have seen for the Oscars, though? Cabin In The Woods is the only recent one really coming to my mind. Let's not forget they did nominate District 9!

Last year was pretty stacked, although I preferred The Conjuring quite a bit over Captain Philips (which was littered with historical inaccuracies) and Philomena.
