No need to focus his energy on BET. BET is only a part of the music scene. He should focus on getting the Grammy voters attention. The Grammys is the place put the energy. Win a Grammy BET will come running after him. Win some Grammys will not need BET, VH1 ,etc.

I will be honest, I never thought he meshed well with BET and their audience, I mean he does pop music with r&b elements, not necessarily r&b songs straight up. Something like "Marry Me" is still a pop record but you can tell he grew up listening to r&b and has that element there.
He shouldn't even bother. He knows he's a singles artist, which is definitely the future with the way the industry is going and BET simply is a downgrade for him as he pretty much has what Chris Brown had at one point, lost, tried to get it back, and gave up on.
Ride the wind while it lasts Jason.

ffff PLEASE. Jason has never touched what Chris had. Let me know when he gets a platinum or multi platinum album first. Or sells out Stadiums. Or has a huge fan base etc.
All he has is a few hit pop singles There's a reason why he isn't getting nominated too many places outside the Teen Choice Awards.

Chris obviously still has success like with Loyal but I think the GP see that he's just an untalented and anger-issued thug. Like he needs to sort his temper, it's not even just Rih he went off at and it's disgusting that he walks away scot-free each time. Jason is talented, he's hardly new or innovative, but he's a hardworker. Kudos to him.

Chris is just as hard of a worker as Jason if not more. You can say his voice has declined because there's no denying that, but Christopher is still able to be recognized for his work hence him being able to continue to get nominated and win BET awards, VMA's and Grammys
Jason is calling out BET, but what award has he actually been nominated for and won since this "era" started besides a damn TCA? Nothing, he probably feels like BET should just nominate him and give him an award for simply being black, but they're not gonna do that. He should just shush and continue making those cute little pop hits

Whether or not that is true doesn't make up for the fact that they don't acknowledge Jason's existence at all.
Hell they gave Pharell and award for Happy, could you at least nominate him
|
Um Happy was #1 at Urban AC. Why wouldn't BET acknowledge it? JDR hasn't done anything worth an acknowledgement on BET. I'm not even sure why he's so pressed.

Thank you. JDR thinks he is owed something because he is black. Another black guy who thinks the world owes him something. We haven't seen that before....

he's kinda a better version of Chris, I'm almost IN SHOCK that they didn't replace him, his voice sounds A LOT like Chris, every time I hear his song I think of Chris first, he looks better than Chris (body and all, not my type but I can admit that), he dances very good, and he got HITS, when was the last time Chris had #1? (we know really well that these awards shows don't care about the quality) and not to mention Jason is not violent , he should get this awards from right and left from BET
and stop with these 'Bet is so urban" that's BS, they nominated Rihanna in the past and Nicki won BET every year even tho she's singing/rapping over pop beats, c'mon now
|
Rihanna had more R&B Hits than Jason who hasn't really tried to make inroads with Urban listeners. Having a one off pop hit once in awhile doesn't qualify a black guy for BET awards. BET caters to R&B listeners. Jason caters to pop listeners. He has never been popular with the BET audience. He's like the lesser pop version of Chris Brown. He has less hits, less sales. Nicki won because she stays on Urban radio even as she blesses pop radio with her one off features, B-sides and bonus tracks once in awhile.

These 100% Pop songs. Gaga appeals to BET more than he does.

You saying black people can't or shouldn't enjoy pop music?

im not a jason derulo fan but i think its wrong and unfair from BET to shut him out. He is not the only black artist to make pop music and that doesn't prevent them to get nominations.

ATRL doesn't even take him seriously, yet they want BET to?

its not about taking him seriously its just about acknowledging the success he's had. Its not like they've never let sh*tty artists perform or get nominated, just how many sh*tty rappers have passed through

well its not only the BET audience that doesn't use Jason, Jason Derulo is singles artist and i doubt he is the only one, plus who didnt use Talk Dirty? it was everywhere i doubt the whole black community ignored it or disliked it in the club or that "Wiggle" song
