This post is so wrong it's comical. Just everything about it is what's wrong with the "social justice warrior" movement that hipsters are supporting.

I think people need to understand that this isn't a black and white issue because what culture someone belongs to certainly isn't black and white.

Appropriation is not simply taking from another culture, but taking from another culture with 1. inadequate understanding and 2. immoral and ignoble intentions in a way that 3. increases misunderstanding of that culture + racism in general.

Participating in or studying another culture for the purpose of learning and decreasing ignorance, or at least with adequate understanding, respect, and permission = appreciation.

People need to stop claiming things. Times are different now. Chinese people aren't the only ones allowed to use chopsticks. blacks aren't he only ones allowed to have gold teeth and chains. Stop acting all offended when people are just enjoying the diversity and human experience together. What does your supposed plight have to do with a persons ability to express and enjoy themselves?

Is "social justice warrior" the only counterargument some of you have? that **** is getting old.
And I think some people need to understand that it's not about using a culture it is how you use it.
