And congrats to Beyonce as well for coming in at #5 with only 1 promo spot so far this year, after previously been the official #1 Biggest Selling Female Album of 2013 with under three weeks of sales.
Beyonce has the biggest selling female album of 2014 as well.

This data obviously isn't taking into consideration track-equivalent albums. TEA are a better representation because it includes single sales in the judgement of what's more popular and selling the most overall. It doesn't matter if it's 13 tracks from Katy Perry's PRISM that have sold or 13 copies of Dark Horse, it's still indicating popularity for Katy and her PRISM album.

Biggest album = PRISM which has the best of both worlds, while BEYONCÉ tracks/singles sales arent that big as Katy - just to remind you single sales are important too.

The only ones making money from singles are the record labels. The artist only gets around 10% of the revenue.
Katy is doing well, but she really needs to start transitioning to the next step. Her album sales are still in the pits for someone with that big of a stanbase.
