It didn't happen to me but my best friend works in an upmarket British food store. An old man was buying a punnet of nectarines and this particular chain charges customers for plastic bags in order to encourage customers to reuse them for the environment's sake. When he saw that he would be charged 3p for a plastic bag, he shouted at my friend, threw the nectarines at her and stormed out of the shop. She was really shaken and angry and it was just so uncalled for

I had to work from 4-8:30 (closing time) and I was stood behind the counter doing guest services work and a customer came up to me and asked for Marlboro Light cigarettes. I checked him out and then he started looking at me with a red face and he seemed really nervous. He mumbled something like ''can I have a package of condoms''. I didn't think it was embarrassing or weird because I think it's very normal to buy condoms if needed and only if you started acting weird about it then it'll be awkward. I then said ''sure sir, what size?'' He turned so red and started yelling at me saying it was none of my business and that he just needed a package of condoms because his girlfriend was coming over. He was yelling so hard the entire store was looking at us

I myself turned red as well and told him I didn't mean it that way. Our Durex condoms come in small (6 pieces), medium (10) and big (24) packages.

He then quickly apologised and said ''I'll take the small one''

I've had bad experiences with customers but none of them were too bad. But one time we were understaffed and a customer asked why it's taking so long. One of my coworkers told her "this is all the people we have." The customer replied with "I wasn't talking to you" and it went downhill from there. I hate my job but the customers keep it interesting.

I worked at Hollister for a few years. One day I was on register and there was a small line of people waiting. Out of nowhere I see a black woman cut a lady that was waiting and she gave absolutely no *****. To be fair, I took the lady that was waiting before the black woman and the black woman came up and started to go off. She started yelling "YOU A RACIST" and "you ain't takin me first because I'm black." And I simply responded by telling her that the customer was in line first waiting patiently. Then my manager came out and she proceeded to also call her a racist and said "You a little white blonde bitch. Imma kick yo ass." Then she started raising her fist and almost tried to climb over the cash wrap... She was escorted out by security within minutes.

I'm surprised you haven't had any experienced this working at a supermarket.

I've dealt with RUDE customers and tbh,I just 'bounce' to other lines when I see them.

I did have this one JERK confront me one time.Apparently,I almost hit him with a cart,twice.I said sorry and this FOOL made a ****ing rant on me.I'm making sure I'll give him EXTRA SPECIAL customer service if he does come back.

Walmart has the WORST customer service. Last time I went, the whole line was cussing out the lady that was supposed to be working the counter. She was hiding in the back.

I work with WWE and we had E!'s Eva Marie at a NXT Event for 'Meet & Greet' for her maxim spread. So she had a sold out crowd to see her. Sadly, we had to cut off a certain amount of people cause it was full.

I had to go out in front of the wrestling fans and tell a certain portions of them that they can't get a autograph signing from eva marie because its full. These wrestlings fans began screaming... A black guy in particular got into my face and started cursing at me and getting all mad and telling how they gonna **** this place up if they get to meet eva marie. like is Eva Marie that important?

Thankfully, the WWE security came over and saved me. I mean the guy and his family were escorted from the premises.

Ironically, the people i was told to tell them they weren't allowed to see Eva Marie....well they were able to see her and get their autograph from her.

I LOATHE Walmart for grocery shopping.I have had customers talk about how DISGUSTING both Walmart and Food Lion are. (I don't find Food Lion that terrible but they are really really BASIC)

If I have a customer that couldn't find the items they needed,I just tell them to go to Teeter (the chain i work at owns them anyway) MUCH before I would tell them to go to the HELLmart across the street

I used to work for Teleperformance and I'd get called a lot of things, from ****** to spic. You name it.

It was a fun job nonetheless and it paid fine

One time they called me a butt muncher, I tried holding in my laugh but I couldn't.

Some trailer park trash looking bitch wanted to call the consumers association on me because I refused to give her a refund for meat she bought over a week earlier, which went past its sell by date date

She went AWF! And I was just standing there pretending to hear her, until she angrily left the store, telling me I'd never get a decent job and she'd never return to the store
